upcoming verizon phone

This year Verizon launched a four great phones and I actually had three of them, the HTC Touch Pro, Samsung Omnia, and the Blackberry Storm. I switched off of all the phones for different reasons. The Touch Pro worked well but when in use the phone used more than 80% of the ram, which is the speed. The Omnia was great and I really enjoyed it but the call quality was low and I could not hear the person on the other line even at maximum volume. Last but not least the storm, this phone was awesome until it crashed and would not produce sound, I was still in my 30 days so the switches only coasted me 20 dollars and I decided to wait for other devices to be launched this year. In my research I found one promising phone, The Blackberry Niagara, set to be released in may 2009.

The Pearl

This was my first week with the BlackBerry Pearl and I like it. The phone is functional and practical. I am able to sync up to 10 email accounts and as I receive a message it is sent to my phone so I am always in contact. The call quality is great I don’t have to repeat myself and I don’t need the volume to the highest level to hear it. The only complaints I have with the phone are with the keyboard, it has two letters to a key, it is small and cramped but it gets the job done. When I am typing a proper name I have to delete the wrong letters and repeat the tap, it can be annoying. Other than that I think it’s great for now.

A sad week for my storm

This week I have some sad news to report, My Blackberry Storm broke. The sound stopped working completely, which almost made me late for my class because I use my phone alarm to wake up. I went to the Verizon store to get my issues fixed and they gave me a new phone. The new phone they gave me was subpar and hardly worked. I decided to abandon the phone completely, I am switching to the BlackBerry Pearl 8130, it’s a good know a little weaker than the storm but it will do until they fix the storm or come out with a new phone for me to use my upgrade.

Storm Updates

This week i was searching through the Crackberry boards looking for new information on the Blackberry Storm. I found a post about a new unofficial update for the software. After a few hours of searching i found a post about on that forum about an official updates is scheduled to be released the 15th of january.
The unofficial updates is actualy .86 and i am currently running .75 i wonder what Verizon will release. Don't get me wrong i love my phone, it's fast, efficiant, and keeps me conected to the internet,AIM, and email. You can only hope that the update will make the device better. I did not have the time today to call Verizon to see if it was true but i hope to tomorrow.

Hello every one

I'm Scott and I enjoy cell phones and other electronic devices most people deem unnecessary . I am starting this blog for a class, public relations and social networking, to exchange ideas and thoughts about technology.

I am a proud owner of Verizon Blackberry Storm. This phone does everything you could want from a phone. The Internet browsing is fast. iPhone owners shoot it down because of its lack of Wifi. The Verizon 3G network is fast and provides coverage everywhere I need it.

Let me know what you think about the phone, if you have one, or if you feel like arguing for the iPhone.
